If you can't vote early, at least make sure you vote!

Sample ballots were mailed out last week, please be sure to review them before you go! If you didn't get one, you can review one and other ballot information at the Duval County Supervisor of Elections website. We have several proposed constitutional amendments up for vote including the Florida Marriage Protection Amendment:

[BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF FLORIDA THAT:
A new section for Article I is hereby created to add the following:

Inasmuch as marriage is the legal union of only one man and one woman as husband and wife, no other legal union that is treated as marriage or the substantial equivalent thereof shall be valid or recognized.]

Edit (after voting): Also, if you plan on voting a straight party ticket, make sure you make your presidential selection FIRST! In some states, making a straight ticket vote does not include the presidential candidates and I'm not sure if Florida is one of those. The ballots are bubble ballots like the ones for standardized tests, and you cannot vote a straight party ticket at all. You make individual selections for everything. [I didn't get my sample ballot, so I didn't know until after I voted.]

You must have a valid photo ID in order to vote, and you can vote anywhere, regardless of your registered precinct.
